If These Are the Words to Live By
© Mary ElizaBeth Peters, April 2010
Everyone who Prays
Wonders when they Pray
I know I really Prayed
What Went Wrong?
Everyone who Lives
Wonders when they Live
I know I really Lived
What Went Wrong?
Everyone who Dies
Wonders when they Die
I know I really Died
What Went Wrong?
When a time comes that I pray
I will wonder when I pray
and I know I’ll really pray . . .
I mean, I know now that I lived,
I wonder . . . how I lived . . .
I know I really lived . . .
When the time comes that I die-
I know I’ll have to die-
Do I have to really die?
What went wrong?
