Truly Advanced Directive

I will not die in a coffin.

I will not die in a grave.

I will not die on a ventilator

and I will not die enslaved.

I did not live to be broken.

I did not live to be fixed.

I did not live as a reconstruction

and I did not live like this.

I am not your science experiment.

I am not your spiritual guide.

I am not your newspaper story

and I am not along for your ride.

I will survive this small dark chapter as

I survived my whole life through.

I am more than this part of my story

and I should mean more than just this to you.
